01Who it’s for

Squish & Wish is designed for children ages 3 and older, played with under adult supervision. The account that sends messages belongs to an adult; a child never needs to touch anything but the plush.

02Setting up

• An adult unboxes the plush, connects the pod to Wi-Fi with the app, and zips the pod back into its pocket before giving the plush to a child.
• Remove all packaging, ties and the box before play. Recycle or dispose of them where a child cannot reach them.
• Check the plush before each play session: seams intact, pocket zipped, no loose stitching, nothing coming apart. If anything is damaged, stop using it and tell us.

03The voice pod and its battery

The pod is a small sealed speaker module with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery inside. The battery is not user-replaceable, and the pod’s case is closed with screws so it cannot be opened without tools.

• Do not open, puncture, crush, drop, bend, microwave, burn, or put the pod in water.
• Keep the pod away from heat sources, direct sun in a hot car, and temperatures below 32 °F / 0 °C or above 113 °F / 45 °C while charging.
• Stop using the pod and unplug it if it becomes hot to the touch, swells, smells, leaks, changes shape, or makes crackling sounds. Put it on a non-flammable surface away from children and contact us.
• If the plush shows any sign of the pod overheating, take the pod out (adult only) and stop using it.
• The pod is inside the plush during play; it is not intended to be handled by a child on its own.

Charging

• Charge only with the included USB-C cable from a certified 5 V USB power source (a standard phone charger or a computer USB port). No wall adapter is included.
• Charge under adult supervision, on a hard, flat, non-flammable surface — not on a bed, sofa, under a pillow, or inside the plush’s pocket with the plush closed around it. Unplug when full.
• Do not let a child charge the pod, play with the plush while it is plugged in, or sleep with it while it is charging.
• Never use a damaged cable or a charger that gets hot.

Disposal

Do not throw the pod in household trash or recycling — lithium-ion batteries can cause fires in collection trucks. Take it to a battery or electronics drop-off (many stores have one; see call2recycle.org), or contact us and we will take it back.

04Cables and cords

• The charging cable is not a toy and can be a strangulation hazard. Keep it out of reach of children, unplug the pod before giving the plush back, and never leave a cable in a crib, bed or play area.
• The plush itself has no cords, straps or strings.

05Washing and water

• Take the pod out first. Unzip the pocket on the back, remove the pod, and zip the pocket closed.
• Surface-wash the plush with a damp cloth and mild soap; air-dry fully before putting the pod back. Do not tumble-dry or iron.
• Do not submerge, shower or bathe with the plush while the pod is inside, and never get the pod wet. If the pod gets wet, unplug it, dry it, and leave it out of the plush for 48 hours; if it does not work afterwards, contact us.

06Small parts

The plush and its pod are designed without small parts that could come loose in normal play, and we are testing them against the US toy-safety standard for exactly that (section 9). If any part — a stitched eye, a seam, a piece of the pod — ever comes loose or detaches, stop using the plush immediately and keep the part away from children.

The packaging and any ties or bags are not toys and can cause choking or suffocation — dispose of them before play.

07Sound

The plush speaks at a conservative, conversational volume set for a bedroom, and the sound level is part of our toy-safety testing. Even so, it is a speaker: don’t hold it against a child’s ear while it is speaking, and lower the volume in the app if anyone finds it too loud.

08Wireless

The pod contains a low-power Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radio, like a phone or smart speaker. Bluetooth is used only during setup. The radio is designed to comply with FCC Part 15 rules for unlicensed devices; the pod must not be modified, and any interference with other devices should be reported to us. There is no microphone in the pod — it cannot listen.

09What the plush says

The plush only speaks messages typed by adults the account holder has approved. It never generates its own words and never talks with a child. You choose who can send, you can see everything that was sent in the app, and every message passes an automated content filter before it is spoken. Our acceptable-use rules say what may not be sent.

10Certifications and testing

Squish & Wish is designed to meet US toy-safety standards, including ASTM F963 and the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirements for children’s products, and its battery and radio are designed to the applicable US safety and FCC requirements. Third-party testing is in progress as we prepare the first production run. We will not claim a certification we have not obtained; this page will be updated with the specifics once testing is complete, and every plush will carry the required tracking label.

11Report a safety concern

If anything about a Squish & Wish plush or pod worries you — overheating, a loose part, a seam, a burn or an injury — please tell us right away at help@squishandwish.com with “Safety” in the subject line, or by post to <TODO legal entity name>, <TODO business street address>. Include what happened, photos if you have them, and the code printed on the plush’s tag or box. We read safety reports first and reply within one business day.

You can also report product-safety incidents directly to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov.

If we ever need to recall or correct a product, we will contact every customer at the email on their order and publish the notice here.
